Prerequisites: This 2-day course is open to Veterinarians, Physical Therapists, Veterinary Technicians, and Physical Therapist Assistants who have successfully completed Introduction to Canine Rehabilitation.

Course Description: This 2-day course introduces participants to canine aquatics and hydrotherapy and their use in rehabilitation and conditioning. Creating an appropriate hydrotherapy program including specific exercises is a primary focus. Hydrotherapy equipment and products including underwater treadmills are covered including selection, use and maintenance.

Course Fee: $800

  • The properties of water and their application to canine hydrotherapy
  • Using aquatics and hydrotherapy in canine rehabilitation, maintenance and conditioning
  • Hydrotherapy equipment and products
  • Specific aquatic rehabilitation exercises
  • Creating a hydrotherapy program
  • Safety issues associated with hydrotherapy
  • Hiring and training hydrotherapy staff
